Temporary outdoor fan festivals present a unique combination of communications and production challenges.

Parks and other temporary event locations often lack the wired internet, network infrastructure, and video-distribution systems needed to support live broadcasts, production teams, vendors, performers, event staff, and VIP viewing areas.

The event required a technical system capable of:

• Continuously receiving and streaming live FIFA World Cup game feeds

• Delivering game video and audio to the primary viewing screens

• Providing game video and audio inside a dedicated VIP tent

• Transmitting live audio and video from the performance stage

Bonded Internet Infrastructure:

To provide resilient internet service without relying on a single connection, Studio Technical Services deployed three Starlink Performance satellite terminals. The Starlink connections were combined through a Peplink enterprise router, providing:​

• Connection bonding

• Intelligent load balancing

• Automatic failover

• Traffic prioritization

• Improved aggregate bandwidth

• Continuous network monitoring

 

This architecture helped maintain stable connectivity even if the performance of an individual satellite connection fluctuated. Mission-critical traffic, including the live game feeds and production systems, could be prioritized over less time-sensitive network activity.

Wi-Fi Tower Trailer & Enterprise Wi-Fi Coverage:

 

Studio Technical Services deployed its 30-foot Wi-Fi Tower Trailer as the central communications and network hub for the FIFA Fan Zone. The elevated tower provided an ideal platform for distributing wireless coverage across the event grounds while supporting the core networking and communications equipment required for internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, streaming, and production operations.

 

From the 30-foot tower trailer, Studio Technical Services deployed managed Wi-Fi coverage throughout the event site.

One of the most critical responsibilities was reliably receiving and delivering the live FIFA World Cup game feeds to the event’s primary viewing displays. Studio Technical Services used the bonded Starlink infrastructure to support continuous game-feed streaming while actively monitoring internet performance and network health throughout each broadcast. The redundant connectivity platform reduced the risk of an individual service interruption affecting the viewing experience.

 

VIP Tent Video and Audio Transmission:

 

In addition to supporting the main public viewing areas, Studio Technical Services provided dedicated video and audio transmission for a VIP hospitality tent. The VIP media system delivered:​
